Possible interpretation: a technology-led Albion
This page explores a technology-led Albion using projection, electronic sound and LED sources. Students should adapt or reject those choices according to their own coherent interpretation; Eduqas does not prescribe this production style.
🏗️ Set Design
Focus on a monolithic, abstract set. Use massive folding panels that act as walls, sliding doors, and projection screens to create a high-tech, claustrophobic environment.
💡 Lighting Design
Flood the stage with intense, saturated red washes to symbolize the systemic violence. Contrast this with the cold, blue, artificial glow of CCTV monitors and television screens.
👕 Costume Design
Design a visually distinct class divide. Crosses wear sharp, tailored, military-inspired uniforms. Noughts wear cheap, practical streetwear that allows them to blend into the shadows.
🔊 Sound Design
Use heavy, electronic, dystopian beats. Incorporate the relentless buzzing of static and the harsh crackle of police radios to maintain constant psychological tension.
