By using Stark Drama, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Educational Nature
Stark Drama is an independent educational resource created to support secondary school Drama students. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to AQA, Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge OCR, Eduqas, WJEC, CCEA or any other awarding organisation. Current official requirements take precedence over guidance on this site.
AI Generation & Accuracy (Safeguarding)
Several tools on this site (such as the Practitioner Idea Generator and Verbatim Simulator) are powered by Artificial Intelligence. While designed to be educational, AI can occasionally generate inaccurate information or "hallucinate" facts. Students must apply critical thinking and cross-reference ideas with their class notes. Furthermore, as drama explores complex human experiences, user prompts may result in the AI generating intense or mature themes. Users are responsible for ensuring the prompts they enter are school-appropriate.
No Guarantee of Results
While we strive for academic accuracy, Stark Drama makes no guarantees regarding final exam grades or coursework moderation outcomes. The generative tools and guides are intended as stimuli, not as definitive grading rubrics.
Technical Provision
The 3D Design Studio and Pocket Rehearsal tools are provided "as-is." We are not responsible for technical failures, loss of data within the browser, or hardware incompatibility.
Terms of Use
Intellectual Property
All content, including the 3D "Bluecoat Actor" models, custom JavaScript rehearsal logic, and pedagogical toolkits, is the intellectual property of Stark Drama. Users are granted a limited license for personal, non-commercial educational use.
Prohibited Actions
- Scraping or "ripping" the script library data for use in other applications.
- Attempting to decompile or reverse-engineer the 3D Studio engine.
- Using the site resources for commercial paid tutoring without prior written consent.
Privacy & Data
Stark Drama does not require student accounts. The site is designed to collect as little information as is reasonably needed to operate and improve the resources.
Optional First-Party Analytics
Stark Drama asks for permission before recording anonymous usage statistics. If you allow analytics, the site records the page path, a short-lived browser-session identifier, limited interaction categories and the time for which the page was actively visible. It does not create a persistent visitor profile, use advertising trackers, record form contents, or store your IP address in the analytics database. Raw analytics events are retained for up to 90 days.
Your analytics choice is remembered in your browser. You can change it at any time using the Privacy settings button displayed on the site.
Feedback
If you submit the feedback form, Stark Drama stores the optional name you provide, your selected role and feedback category, your message, and the submission date. This information is used only to review and improve the site. Do not include private information about yourself, other students or your school.
Browser Storage
The site may use browser storage to remember functional choices such as your selected exam board, analytics preference and rehearsal settings. These choices remain on your device until you clear them or change the relevant setting.
AI Tools
When you choose to use an AI tool, the text you enter and, for the Written Answer Coach, the image you upload are sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the response. Stark Drama does not deliberately retain those prompts or images in its own database. Google processes the request under the terms applying to the site's API service. Never include names, contact details, school details, passwords, signatures or other identifying information. The Written Answer Coach attempts to omit identifying details it can see, but users should crop them out before uploading.
To prevent abuse and unexpected API costs, Stark Drama records only operational usage information for AI requests: the tool used, time, model, token totals, estimated cost and success or failure. Prompts, answers and images are not written to this usage ledger. A one-way network identifier is used temporarily to enforce per-user limits; short-term entries are pruned after the limiting window and are removed from archived monthly ledgers.
Microphone and Speech Recognition
Pocket Rehearsal may ask your browser for microphone permission. Speech recognition is handled by the browser or its speech service. Stark Drama does not receive or store the recording, but the browser provider may process audio according to its own privacy terms. The manual rehearsal controls can be used without microphone access.
